Regional Australia Institute (RAI) CEO, Ms. Liz Ritchie will address the National Press Club in Canberra this Wednesday, 24 May.
Rebalancing the nation – empowering regional Australia for growth is the focus of Ms Ritchie’s first address to the National Press Club. Ms Ritchie will outline the Institute’s call for a common-sense, holistic approach to regional growth.
“People are continuing to move to the regions, regional job vacancies and workforce participation is at an all-time high, rental vacancies in many towns below 1% and access to GPs generally remaining difficult for those outside metropolitan areas – we need considered planning to achieve social and economic prosperity,” Ms Ritchie said.
Ms Ritchie will launch the Institute’s latest report, Regional Jobs 2022: The Big Skills Challenge, identifying the biggest gaps in critical roles in regional Australia.
