Orange to host Regions Rising NSW

2 November 2023

The Regional Australia Institute (RAI) will host the NSW component of its national event series, Regions Rising, in Orange on Thursday, 16 November 2023.

Delivering the latest information on the key issues affecting regional communities - including jobs and skills, housing, population, liveability, productivity, innovation, sustainability, and resilience - Regions Rising will bring together industry experts, regional leaders, government, political leaders, academics, and the community sector.

RAI CEO Liz Ritchie will launch RAI’s newest research report Against the Odds: Realising Regional Australia’s Workforce Potential, which provides solutions to help fill the 91,000 roles currently vacant in regional Australia, including recommendations to strengthen the local workforce.

Against the Odds was funded by the Australian Government and State Government partners.

The NSW update will also be provided on the RAI’s Regionalisation Ambition – a 20-target, 10-year framework for regional Australia.

The Hon. Tara Moriarty MLC, Minister for Agriculture, Regional NSW and Western NSW will deliver a keynote address.
