Blackbooks Tea | www.blackbookstea.com.au | Cairns, QLD
Blackbooks Tea was founded in 2009 on a love of drinking real leaf tea (not supermarket teabags) and an even bigger passion for encouraging people to discover a good cuppa.
The tea is sourced from a number of different locations, including the Palmerston and the Daintree districts in North Queensland and the Alpine district of Victoria. Margaret makes traditional Black, Green and Herbal teas and also concocts unique local blends such as “Cairns Brekkie Tea”, “Atherton Afternoon” and “Australian Sunshine” using Rosella Hibiscus, Cocoa Husk, native herbs such as Wattleseed and Lemon Myrtle and locally dried fruits like Mango and Blueberries.
Blackbooks Teas are packed and sold at markets in the Cairns region. Not only does Margaret produce and sell Australian grown blends, premium leaf teas and organic herbal infusions but also Handmade Tea Craft – teapots, earrings, fridge magnets and gift boxes.
After participating in the 2016 Masterclass, Margaret made the decision to completely redo her business’s logo, packaging and website using her new knowledge. Margaret describes the experience of being a finalist as a fantastic opportunity, that helped her realise the importance of getting those foundations right.
